And he sat down with them at their table;
He took the bread, gave a prayer of thanks,
Then broke it and said:

“Take and eat it. This is my body, which is given to you.”

Then he took a cup of wine, gave thanks to God
And gave it to them.

“Drink it all of you. This is my blood,
poured out for all the people.
This is my blood, poured out for the forgiveness of sins.”

And their eyes were opened
And they knew him
And he vanished out of their sight.

Das ist mein Blut, das zur Vergebung der Sünden vergossen wird.“

Da wurden ihre Augen aufgetan,
und sie erkannten ihn.
Und er verschwand vor ihren Augen.
